Champion for Vision Award
Champion for Vision award is a joint award presented by the Children’s Eye Foundation (CEF) and the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus (AAPOS) that celebrates individuals and/or organizations that have made extraordinary efforts to Champion children’s vision. The award was created in 2012 and was first presented to Jeff Todd of Prevent Blindness America.

Individuals or organizations that have made an extraordinary impact on children’s vision, and children’s blindness prevention efforts will be considered for this award. Special consideration will be given to efforts that are innovative and make an impact on children’s vision.
Areas of consideration include, but are not limited to: local and international vision outreach efforts, research, technology, procedure innovation, and blindness prevention programs.
The selection committee comprised of members of the CEF and AAPOS board of directors will review individuals and organizations that have been nominated by the selection committee as well as outside individuals.

Due to the specificity of the award, it is not necessary to select a recipient each year.
