William Gibson, Ph.D. – President
William Gibson, Ph.D is an economic expert based in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Gibson has been on the Children’s Eye Foundation Board of Directors since 2007, and has been serving as the board President since 2009.
Dr. Gibson graduated with a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Chicago in Chicago, IL. He has spent his entire career in economics.
Dr. Gibson began his career at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago where he was a research economist. He has had an extensive career including working for a Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, White House Senior Staff Economist in the President’s Council of Economic Advisers, and served as a research associate at The Brookings Institution. Dr. Gibson has also worked as the Vice President and Director of Monetary Affairs, and the Director of Special Projects at Pillar Economic asset Management, Inc. Most recently Dr. Gibson has worked with Gibson Financial, Inc., Pillar Income Asset Management, Inc., and North Texas EB5 Regional Center.
Dr. Gibson has previously taught economics at UCLA. He currently serves as the Adjunct Professor of Economics for the University of Texas at Dallas.
He is also active in the local community, serving on the City of Plano Board of Adjustment since 2010 and the Greater Dallas Crime Commission since 1997.
