Dr. David Epley is from Salem, Oregon, and received his medical training at the Oregon Health Sciences University. He completed his residency in ophthalmology at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore. He was fellowship-trained in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus at St. Louis Children's Hospital, part of Washington University in St. Louis. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, and sub-specializes in comprehensive pediatric ophthalmology and pediatric cataracts. Dr. Epley is actively involved in the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus (AAPOS), where he has served as President and currently sits at the AAPOS representative to the Children’s Eye Foundation. He is a Board Examiner for the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is on the Board of Trustees for the Washington Academy of Eye Physicians and Surgeons, and is the deputy editor of the Knights Templar Pediatric ONE education center (in development). He is a graduate of the AAO Leadership Development Program.

Dr. Epley is married and has two children. His hobbies include music, swimming, and technology. He has been in practice since 1998. He joined the Children's Eye Foundation Board of Directors in 2014.
